Stress

Another Selfie...

When I'm feeling stressed I always seem to carry the tension in my neck and shoulders. I think I've been stressed out lately and I am starting to feel it. Time to try and relax...

I know for sure that I am stressed when I have trouble sleeping. Last night I tossed and turned for several hours. When it was very late, suddenly all I could think about was a scary movie that I watched on Halloween ("Paranormal Activity") and so I did what any mature grown up would do, I woke my husband up by jabbing him in the ribcage.

Me: "Honey are you awake?" (of course he is since I jabbed him in the ribs)

Husband: "hhmmmmhh"

Me: "I can't sleep. I'm afraid of 'Paranormal Activity' "

Husband: "There is no paranormal activity. just close your eyes..." followed by his snoring.

Well, easier said than done. Every time I closed my eyes all I could picture was a super creepy scene from the movie. From now on I'm only watching comedies.

* and just want to say thanks for all the views and nice comments on yesterdays selfie shot :)

My husband has seen those movies but I will not!!!!!! Lol. Bc I know if I do I will be just like you and never sleep again!!! Lol. This photo is so pretty! I luv the softness of it! You should get a message to help you relax :)
November 10th, 2011
I just read your story to my husband and he giggled. Lol. Mostly bc he knows that is how I would be too....that, and he would just go back to snoring like your husband did, lol, he is good at that! Lol
November 10th, 2011
Great selfie! I have the same problem with my tension. I had an hour massage tonight just to make my neck work again! I hope you manage to get some relaxation in soon. (I had the sleep thing too, with Sixth Sense, for weeks after seeing the movie!).
November 10th, 2011

@bkbinthecity i looked it up to make sure you weren't trying to trick me into watching something scary ;p but it looks like a comedy, so i will add it to my list!

@davidrowe thanks David!

@kdimagery hahaha funny! for sure DON'T watch them. Never ever! we don't have cable, just Netflix (which is how we watched it) and now I can't even go on Netflix just in case I see it there lol

November 10th, 2011
i know, isn't it stupid? and then i see a movie and say to my husband, let's rent that and he says, but we have already seen it and i say, but i don't remember it. . . how can i remember it? i spent the whole movie hidden under my blanket? i get scared reading a book, have to put it down, walk around the house, pick it back up. that is how much of a chicken shit I AM. yet, i keep on. what a sucker.
November 10th, 2011
THe mind can be a tricky place keep it happy.

November 12th, 2011
@shutterbugger Oh my goodness Jenn that is EXACTLY the scene I can't get out of my head!!
November 12th, 2011
@laurentye after I posted that I thought that maybe I shouldn't have. You've had a couple days to get over your fearful night and I might be opening up that can of worms again! Just keep your feet tucked under the covers...the covers are you force field, always works for me!
November 12th, 2011
@shutterbugger haha i don't think i'll ever get over it, but of course i am staying very tucked in my force field of blankets and far from the edge of the bed!
November 12th, 2011
It's always good to know that if you can't sleep, at least you have the option of a small chat inbetween snores.
November 13th, 2011
beautiful capture... quite the opposite to stress actually - gives very serene vibe... hope you sleep better and that stress is gone..
November 13th, 2011
This made me chuckle Lauren.... that snoring conversation is very familiar... lol!!! This however is a very beautiful shot of you Lauren ♥
November 14th, 2011
