Urgggg. So the past week I have done a few things that I have regretted. I like to think it was the insomnia and life stress that caused me to act impulsively and irrationally on more than one occasion. During what I now like to call my "Week of Horrible & Terrible Decisions and Actions" one of my disastrous decisions was to take some scissors to my own hair.
First of all, I should never ever try to cut my own hair. But more importantly I should REALLY never ever cut my own hair when I'm sleep deprived and lacking proper judgement. At the time I thought it seemed like a fantastic idea to just trim my bangs. But once I made that first snip, I realized with horror that it was WAY too short but at that point there was no turning back.
My hairdresser is going to give me a lecture next time I go in.
Now I'm left with awkward, uneven, too short, weird looking bangs. I debated trying to fix them today, but fortunately now that I am clear headed I realize that would make it worse. I wish I could stay in the house and hide until my hair grows, but unfortunately I have a dinner date with friends this week...
Next time I get the urge to play hairdresser on myself, I will think back to this.

Lovely focus of these awful scissors! I made the mistake of asking my Mum to cut my bangs when I was 17. They were shorter than short...had to wear a ball cap for weeks! Don't worry, it will grow. In the meantime, get a hat!
@naomi haha cause it's just my bangs, or "fringe" to you in the UK. so now just that part is super short and odd looking, so i don't want to make them shorter lol
@shutterbugger hahaha Funny. I remember sitting on a counter as a child and my mom putting a bowl on my head as a cutting guide. mmm maybe i would have had more luck with a bowl...
Been there, done that. A couple of years ago while adding "highlights" I managed to dye my hair white with orange polka-dot roots! I feel your pain. Nice shot though :)
OH NO!!! hahaha. im sorry, this is not a funny story, but part of me giggled. I always cut my own bangs, but one time i too, cut them a bit to short as well. WHOOPSIE!!! we all live and learn right!? lol. At least you were just attempting your bangs and not the rest of your hair!! then it could have gotten scary!!! lol. Maybe you can pin your bangs back somehow where it would look nice???? or do you never pin your bangs back? dont worry, maybe nobody will notice :)
awesome focus. but sorry about your bad week. i think the only thing left to do now, is post a selfie of your awkward, uneven, too short, weird looking bangs. embrace it, and enjoy your dinner date.
So the fact that you did not post a selfie I guess would be a good decision. I for one would have liked to see one. If this is any cosolation Melody has done that before and yes she would then get a lecture from her hairdresser too. I suppose that is what hats are for
LOL! Most bad decisions are simply blessings in disguise I have found. There is a FAB movie on this concept called "Interstate 60". Grab it on DVD or Netflix if you can....
