The local beaches took a tough hit during the harsher than normal winter. Two that I know of in my town lost chunks of their parking lot and many others had massive erosion. The town is obviously trying to build up this beach, Mant's Landing in Brewster.
Bummer, but I know exactly what you mean. Our beaches have also taken quite a beating over the last few years, mostly from tropical storms and the like. It's hard to fight against Mother Nature, but that doesn't stop us from trying. She taketh, and she giveth away.
