Caithness Paperweight from Scotland

Today my Mom, Aunt Sandie and I went to the Sandwich Glass Museum to see the exhibit of about 200 creches from all over the world. It was technically a work thing, because I have to write about it tomorrow, but the exhibit was so beautiful and it was so much fun to share it with two of my favorite people. It was hard to take photos because it was sunny and the creches were all behind glass, so reflections were crazy.
Very beautiful shot. I love that the nativity is inside the glass, or is it?

@sabanford I so wish you could have come with us! Then I would have been with three of my favorite people! I'm looking forward to seeing you tomorrow night. The nativity was etched on the outside, but the colors are on the inside. Photos were nearly impossible because of the glare. I'm curious to see what Mom and Aunt Sandie posted.

You captured this paperweight so well. I love the etched manger scene and you got no glare or reflections!

You just have the best job--I'd love to manage a job like yours. Fiction writing is so sporadic ($$). Beautiful glass colours

I remember very clearly the issues with the windows, though at the same time, how else would they display these lovely glass pieces? LOL This is really beautiful! Next time we should go to Pairpoint....:-D

What a beautiful piece! My friend's a glassblower and he gives me all his "rejects" (which are still lovely) so I've got quite a nice little collection going:)
