We started off on the right foot. Steve left work early and we took a sunset walk on the beach together. He found me a (sort of) heart shaped rock. The sunset fizzled, but we were still hopeful. We went out for burgers at a local pub. All good.
But just as I was ready to quickly post my photo and get out the Scrabble game, our oldest daughter called me and I have been on the phone helping her write an application essay all night. On to some late night Scrabble...I think...or maybe just cards.
*Edit - We did play Scrabble and as of now Steve is one game ahead of me. Thank you for all your comments and interest in my photos. You are all the best!
Ah, motherhood, no matter what the age ya gotta do your duty and it doesn't really ever go away. My hubby and I play Scrabble most every night too. Go figure. I have been on the winning end for a run now.
It all just breaks my heart (mostly in a good way--you know what I'm talking about). Glad you got to walk, share a meal, and play despite the interruption. My daughter called from Denver to ask what color bed she should buy!
I always pick up rocks whenever I walk on the beach. I'm just drawn to stones and love the colors, shapes, and the feel of them. I used to keep a polished stone in my pocket every day, but....hmmm? Where is that stone and why did I stop carrying it? LOL.....now I have to go look through my chest of drawers and find it. Funny the things certain photos bring to mind. Love this one for just that reason.
have to have another date night on valentines day!
