My car is still in the shop, so I had to wait until my husband came home to borrow his car to go on a photo shoot. It was raining with distant thunder when I took this photo.
The funny thing was that the shots I took to the left, where the sun was hiding behind the clouds were all really gray, with a lightening where the sun was hiding behind the clouds. But to the east the sky was much more interesting - vivid blue in contrast to the clouds. What I can't figure out is where that light in the clouds was coming from.
LH--the blue sky & the clouds are so cool! Wow! Alice said to send you a big wet lick-- and one to Sophie, one for your hubby for letting you borrow his car & a million to the mechanic working on your car! :-)
Great moody feel to this. Hope your car is out of the shop soon. I'm sad we won't be joining you in Maine this year. I had such a great time last year, and that was the start of my 365 project on that camping trip. Have fun and I will see you on the Cape when you get back for our family reunion.
PS Thanks for the FAV on my Ground Zero photo.
A pretty photo of such changing skies yesterday. We had heavy rain in the morning - then just clouds -then bright sun with blue skies followed by rain and thunder in the afternoon. I had to run out between storms to get a shot. Very strange weather we've been having lately!
Beautiful lighting on this cloudy day shot, Laurie. The sun's behind there somewhere giving you that back lit effect. I hope you get your car back soon, and without too much in $$$ damages.
@christiehicks I'm sad you aren't coming too! Now I have no one to float around the lake and share a late afternoon beer with. It's just not the same to do that all by yourself. I'm looking forward to seeing you on the Cape when we get back, though.
