I'm so far behind and between family stuff and work, it feels lke I may never catch up, but I really wanted this photo to be part of my album. We cut our tree down Saturday at the Christmas tree farm in Vermont that we always go to. This apparently is what people whose kids are too big for Santa's lap do. My teenagers did run through the fields of trees with abandon and pushed each other on the same swings I used to push them on when they were younger. They even stuck their faces in the wood cutouts of Santa and Mrs. Claus for photos, but they drew the line at sitting on Santa's lap.
How fun that you went to cut your own tree! I want to do that some year. Glad the kids still had fun with it now that they're bigger. Even though my brothers and I are all grown up, we still have fun with the family holiday traditions too.
I was so taken with your dachshund and the childhood memories it always brings for me when I see one, that I didn't notice at first that her name is Sadie, which is what ours was called! What a lovely idea and how accommodating Santa is to have pets instead of children!
