The interesting clouds disappeared as soon as I took the first couple of photos of them, but they uncovered the constellation Orion, which has clouds of its own, 1,344 light years away. Click the magnifying glass to enlarge the photo. The bright star on the right is Rigel and the bright spot on the left is the Orion Nebula (also known as M42). Look closely around the bright comma-shaped spot and you can begin to see the larger, dimmer clouds.
I just noticed that stars are visible even through the solid bars of the window, because the camera lens is wider than the bars and every star can be seen through at least part of the lens.
