This alien frog character was originally drawn by a long-ago friend of mine, Daniel Johnston, for the paper label that he glued onto cassette cases for the album "Hi, How Are You" that he duplicated on his jam box and distributed himself. You can look it up on Wikipedia. My copy of "Hi, How Are You" was given to me by another friend who didn't really "get" it, but I have copies of "Yip/Jump Music" and "Retired Boxer" that Daniel gave me after I went looking for the creator of this very unusual music.
As I was standing across the street taking a photo of this mural on a downtown Austin business, these two girls came by to take photos of each other with the famous landmark.
