I was designing a cover for a DVD jacket tonight, and took a break just before midnight to photograph one of the actual DVDs. I lit it with a small USB-powered LED light and underexposed by two stops to keep the colors from being washed out. The rainbow reflections on an optical disc have been the subject of my "picture of the day" before, but I like this one the best.
