Just a quick shot by the side of the road today. These are a VERY common sign in rural parts of Australia. The kangaroos generally aren't a problem during the day, but at dusk & during the night is a whole different story :-O I avoid driving at night whenever I can!
Now I'm feeling really homesick, this is just such a typical Australian road with those dry verges, sometimes filled with wildflowers at the right time of year or the odd goanna or snake - memories memories!
Your picture brings back so good memories, and for that I thank you. Fav. Homesick @judithdeacon ? I suffer extrem wanderlust. On my study door I have a wood sign (brought back from Australia), saying: Australia, its a bloody long way 16'700km. O gosh.
This is so strange for me to see!! What do they do during the dark? Pardon the dumb question but I've never seen one so I wouldn't know how big or powerful or fast they are!!
@dishaparekh176 Disha, they are more active at night & often jump across the roads & can cause a lot of damage to cars, and often the kangaroos end up dead, which is sad :( They seem to get tranced with the car headlights & just bounce straight in front of you......
