Just thought I'd show the cave system that contains the Aboriginal art from yesterdays collage of artwork. As you can see, there is no access to the caves, there is caging all the way along the cave front to help potect & preserve the ancient artwork.
There were little holes and flap doors randomly along the cage wall, at various heights for taking photos (barely any at eye level)....but they were mostly in very awkward positions, having to squat, kneel and even lay on the ground, like a contorsionist doing yoga, to attempt to get a shot. A lot of my shots were terrible, as you also had to take your shot one handed, as you had to hold the flap door open with the other hand, so it was a little bit tricky to try to get some decent shots of this amazing artwork.
@leggzy Yeah. Loving it. I pride myself on my knowledge of Australian Geography and to a lesser extent world geography but this one and the Gundabooka Nat Park got me
Thanks for sharing this shot with us. It helps to understand what the site is like. I wish I had been there with you. I would have been happy to hold the flap door open for you, so that you might have been able to hold your camera with both hands.
Again, as with so many of your photos, there are stories in this one. One is a sad one, about vandalism and lack of respect for such sites, making it difficult to access for everyone else.
