Continuing along the Green track in Bungonia NP, is Mass Cave. It was absolutely pitched black in there, besides once you got down into the main bit of the cave as there was a small opening at the top of the cave to let light in.
Photo 1 is the entrance to the cave.
Photo 2 shows the tunnel (only way I can describe it) down into the cave - there was a chain on the left hand side for hanging onto & without this I think it would be near impossible/dangerous trying to get down in there, plus back out! There was also a quite narrow bit part way down where you basically had to crawl to get through, which was still tight with a backpack on! Not sure why the "yellow glow" in my shot.
Photo 3 Looking up to the opening at the top of the cave that is letting some light in.
Photo 4 is the main bit of the cave showing a few stalactites.
The cave is called Mass Cave, as there used to be church services held inside!....who knew!
It sounds like it was quite the adventure to get in there, but well worth it. I don't think I'd be able to do the crawling though- it would be physically a challenge for me, but I'd love to see something like that. Great shots. (I'm no expert, but perhaps the yellow hue has something to do with the white balance but I really couldn't venture an educated guess there.
