The hedgerow berries aren't great round here this year. The blackberries are poor sad shrivelled looking things, but these elderberries in the sun caught my eye.
Beautiful photo of one of my favorite berries and a real trip down memory lane. As a young boy, I would help my Father pick elderberries on the property of a dairy farm. I then would help my Mother make elderberry jelly. The dairy farm is now a housing development. To this very day I keep my eye out for elderberry jelly at farm stands and old general stores.
