Trimley Marshes

Trimley Marshes is managed by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust and is a very important reserve for migrating waders and other shore birds who make their way to the Orwell/Stour Estuary. There is a small visitors centre and five bird hides. This picture was taken from the Hipkin Hide overlooking the summer flood area where a Siberian Stonechat and a Pectoral Sandpiper put in appearances at the weekend causing a bit of a rush of twitchers! I'm not a twitcher, I just enjoy watching the birds. This reserve is a two mile walk from my front door.
