I made this back in '94 for my mother-in-law who was actually born in a windmill (well the adjoining mill house).For those who know Suffolk she was born in Framsden Mill which was in my husbands family for many years until the bottom dropped out of the milling trade and at the age of 60 Grandad Sam sold Framsden and Debenham Tower Mill (no longer standing) which the family also owned and bought a farm (Hill Farm in Debenham) to support his three sons and his daughter through the war years. My husband was born and raised on this farm which stayed in the family until Grandad Sam and his wife Rose died within months of each other and the farm was sold and the family went their separate ways.
The picture is not a likeness of Framsden Mill, but I know that my mother-in-law was fond of it and when she passed away 18 months ago Iit came back to me. It hangs on my staircase.
