I love poetry, have done since I was a small child and I read some most days.
This copy of A Shropshire Lad was printed in 1935 and I found it in a box at a car boot sale. I love it.
I also love Wendy Cope and thought the following poem of hers was appropriate to accompany this photograph.
Another Unfortunate Choice
I think I am in love with A E Housman.
Which puts me in a worse than usual fix.
No woman ever stood a chance with Houseman
And he's been dead since 1936.
The texture of that old book cover brings back a thousand memories. They literally don't make them like that any more.
And for anyone who is interested., here's a link to his poem which shouts spring and I think of each year at thia time. http://www.poetryfoundation.org/poem/173676
