Lets Go Fly A Kite

It was hard to pick a shot but this one seemed to show the most kites. The monument was damaged from the earthquake and won't be open for years. I think the scaffolding will go to the top so it can be repaired.....

Great capture. It is just lovely. A lot of our buildings in and around Christchurch are all fenced off like that too. Very sad to see.

@maggiemae sorry to take so long to answer... in August of 2011 we had a 5.6 earthquake. I happened to be visiting my mom and we had no idea at first what was going on. The ground shook for a few minutes and she had us run into the bathroom away from all the windows. There were people in the monument and it swayed , street cameras captured the sway. It cracked the monument and the more they looked the more cracks they found.
