We got a new bluebird feeder hoping to not feed the starling. Following my girlfriend Emilys advise I removed one of the side plexiglass panels to get them familiar with the feeder. Hope after awhile I can put the panel back and they will enter and exit through all the sides that have holes. The starling can not fit through the holes. For now I will shoe the starlings away. Feeder located right outside slider for now.
I love all the monochromatic blues. They all match perfectly! What a clever idea for the birds. I need something like this because of starlings in my yard too. Fabulous photo.
I have a similar feeder in wood, the bluebirds won't touch it. but the starlings tray to poke their big heads in. I have another feeder for the Bluebirds, in a cage that does work. for them. STARLINGS!!
@berelaxed we also have another cage feeder of them but like you the starlings hog it and empty it in a day. Mealworms here aren't cheap and I'm tired of feeding the starling who won't share with the bluebirds.
