Rebecca and I decided to hike Long Point Trail this morning before sunrise to get a photo of the New River Gorge Bridge. After the 40 minute walk in with flashlights through the woods, you arrive at a rock cliff clearing. The sun had just made it over the mountains but the view was encased in total fog. Three others had beat us there and two were locals so they pointed out where the bridge would be when the fog cleared. We waited two hours and by that time a few others had arrived. Some stayed some left before the fog cleared. At 9:10 Rebecca and I said uncle and packed up our camera gear. One photographer said you giving up? We told him that the Grist Mill was waiting for us and we were going to arrive so much later there then we had planned. Well, don't you know the fog started clearing at that moment and we just had to stay and unpack the camera gear. It only took minutes to clear but not real happy with those photos (trying to shot around the other photographers). After the 40 minute walk back to the car we arrived at Grist Mill at 11am. Hours later than we planned. Spent 2 hours shooting the mill and then the LONG trip home ....
