We have had freezing temperatures now for about two weeks and all the standing water in the area is frozen over. Our heated birdbath is a big draw for the birds right now. The pileated woodpecker was the second woodpecker to find the new suet feeder by accident I think when she stopped by for a drink of water. Missing the red mustache identifies her as a she.
@tunia we have two cement birdbaths that the tops come off . I also learned the hard way when one broke and I had to replace it. I now take the tops off and lean them against the bases during the winter.
