1600 Pennsylvania Avenue by lesip

1600 Pennsylvania Avenue

There are 132 rooms, 32 bathrooms, and 6 levels to accommodate all the people who live in, work in, and visit the White House. There are also 412 doors, 147 windows, 28 fireplaces, 7 staircases, and 3 elevators.

Since 1800, the White House has been a symbol of the United States government, the president and the people of America.

My first stop yesterday was the White House. I was stopped from walking on the street by the tall black fence by the capitol police and had to walk another block to get this picture. I'm shooting over another temporary fence. Within minutes of snapping this picture they stated letting people on the street. WHAT??? I did walk the block back and get a closer shot but that POV had the tall black fence in your face. I guess things happen for a reason because I like this shot so much better and probably wouldn't have taken one from there.
It is a wonderful capture, such interesting info too.

I think it turned out beautifully and you got a little extra exercise in the process

One of the most beautiful perspectives of the White House I’ve ever seen. I toured it about 50 years ago. No fences back then. Clouds overhead seem appropriate for these days. Praying for clearer skies and future for our world.

May the ominous clouds not be a warning

I think the title could be "There are always storm clouds over the White House."
