Hot Air Rising by lesip

Hot Air Rising

Well the weather didn't cooperate but not a total loss. Preakness balloon launch didn't happen but one balloon went up and down for rides. Talked with a balloon owner and with rain near by and high winds up in the atmosphere it was cancelled. The balloon gets heavier as it gets wet but main problem is drying balloon so mold doesn't happen and ruin fabric. I think she said her balloon cost 23,000 dollars. Not many balloon launches in this area because of all the restricted air space. Oh well, not off the photo bucket list yet but good practice. This shot sooc
Wow what a gorgeous capture Leslie! : )

What a shot! I love how it is almost a silhouette, but then when I looked close, I could see elements of the design on the balloon.

Love taking photos of hot air balloons. The weather is always a problem. I got up seven days in a row at 4:30am to photograph a ballon festival an not one balloon left the ground! This is a beautiful photo with a fantastic silhouette.

@thirtysevenways thank you... Seven days of bad weather now that's some real bad luck :( do you have hot air photos in your project?

@rennes thank you Lisa

@lesip sadly no. There aren't any where we live now. I will dig one out and put it my favourite album.

What a great shot, Leslie, even though you did not capture what you wanted to. We had a hot air balloon land in the space next to our first house as we were in a new development. It was awesome and took some good shots that are on paper and in with all my shots on film. Sure wish we had digital back then.
