A quick exit off the metro Saturday on my way to the DC Roller Girls playoffs. The monument is now totally encased with 500 tons of steel scaffolding covering an area of 3.2 acres. Work will now begin on the earthquake damaged monument. While it's not very pretty now one day in the distant future it will be picture perfect again.
