Taken two weeks ago during my cherry blossom visits to DC. I'm at the top of the Washington Monument shooting out the little window. You can see the WWII Memorial at the bottom middle then the empty reflecting pool (will need to do this again when it's finally fixed and filled) and the Lincoln Memorial is after the empty pool . It's an amazing view from here.
@cazla they were having problems with the filtration a couple years ago and emptied it to try and solve the problem. Lots of money later it was refilled and not fixed so once again it is empty and being worked on. It will very rarely be emptied once they get it right.
