Bottle Rocket

Saw a similar type of shot using a mason jar from a fellow 365'er and knew I wanted to give it a try. I was warned their first attempt yielded a cracked mason jar. When the sparkler made it to the narrow neck of the bottle I really started worrying would it explode and was I far enough away from it to not get hit with flying glass? I really should have grabbed the tripod and moved back instead of wondering . Although the bottle did crack at the neck I am thankful it stayed in one piece. Don't think I'll try this again.

Had a fantastic day at the beach with my husband and some good friends for my birthday. Still wondering how I got so OLD ??? Maybe it's all a dream.
Its a bit of a worry this getting older business! All of a sudden people define you as "elderly' - well they do me, don't know about you! Good for you for trying this shot and getting such a good result! Don't think I'll try it! fav

Happy birthday, Leslie! I turned 60 this month, and yesterday I got a discount into the movies, so there's that. Maybe this shot could be done with the remote? It is a super successful result, and perfect for your day!

Happy birthday, Glad you celebrated with a daring shot. Old is all in the mind and changes with time. For me old will always be someone 15 to 20 years older than me.

I wonder if you put a dinner knife in the absorb the heat if that would help. I remember years ago when pouring hot liqui into a glass container we would put in a spoon or a knife to absorb the heat so the glass would not crack from the hot liquid? I would definitely test it from a distance first though.
