Tomorrow is the 5th Annual High Wheel Race in Frederick, Md. It has grown every year and is now a huge event. The gentleman off the podium came up with the idea of holding this race when he couldn't find any in the United States. The gentleman on the podium is Joff Summerfield from the UK. He was invited to join in the race and asked if he would speak about his journey around the world on his Penny Farthing (high wheeler). My husband and I went to hear him speak. He so reminded me of Leana @leananiemand and her journeys around the globe on her bike. He had a slide show running to his left with pictures of his journey just like Leana. I so admire them both. With temps around 100 degrees tomorrow I think the riders are going to be challenged along with all the spectators watching. Really looking forward to it. I've only missed one year just hope I survive the heat.
