The sun came out and the temps rose into the high 40's so I thought I'd get some exercise and go check out all the prep going on downtown. It's a sea of fences and port a potties everywhere you turn.
A most interesting choice of composition. We attended the biterly cold inaugurations day parade of The first President Bush and it was memorable in spite of the cold. I hope you get warmer weather for this one.
@alophoto still debating . Looks like they are going to be herding people like cattle into fenced pens. Not sure how much I'll be able to even see without tickets . Maybe I could be the parade . They are now calling for rain so just not sure.
Great shot. It would be interesting to be there for any inauguration!! I have only been to D.C. once and that's when I was in 8th grade. (So 26 yrs ago)!!!
i read some reports that the donald raised the highest amount of inaugural donations compared to past presidents. perhaps to pay for all the port-a-potties needed. :-)
@summerfield well they do say Don's Johns although most now have duct tape covering the name. Supposedly the Park Service did it saying no advertising on the Capitol grounds but I don't think that's the real reason. I found it interesting that the port a potties lining the monument grounds are from a company called United and the name is not covered.
