Protect The Queen

My eagle eye Bob noticed this looking out the back slider yesterday early evening. He had just read an article in the newspaper about the bees swarming and couldn't believe we had a swarm right in our backyard. They are looking for a new hive and the queen gets tired and must rest while all the other bees protect her. Scout bees go out and try to find a new place. They were still there this morning and the light was great so I took some more pictures. I was sad but relieved when I checked on them around 4 and the tree was bare. Wish I had seen them leave but boy how cool was that?
This is excessively cool.

Please send some of these bees out this way. We just don't have many of them these days. Have fruit trees in our yard that need pollination. Consequently, with no bees, we haven't had apricots for the past two years.

Incredible capture of the swarm! We had some last year in our front yard but they weren't this pretty. We had to have a bee eradication company come to get rid of them because our gardener had been bitten doing yard work.
