A picture perfect day for the Cherry Blossom Kite Festival and the visitors just kept arriving. The cherry blossoms around the Washington Monument are in full bloom and the ones around the Tidal Basin have popped. The Smithsonian Metro stations were at gridlock along with all the traffic around the mall. Trash cans were overflowing and it was only a little after 12. It was definitely a people watching day. I was exhausted by the time I made it back home but glad I made the journey.
