Dune Walker

There are a lot of wild horses in the OSV section of Assateague. We were there 7 hours and on our back to the gate when we finally came across a few herds that were close enough to photograph. The empty dunes make a beautiful backdrop.
Marvellous to have been there and at least seen some! This one seems to have bones showing - perhaps there has been a lack of food there!

What a gorgeous photograph. I'd like to be able to give this one a lush bale of hay to maybe make those ribs a little less noticeable.

This image would be great for a children’s book about the wild horses on the dunes! Love it!

@lesip Thanks for the comment shared on my little wild dove picture. Yes, she lives in the house now, in an area designed just for my little family of pet birds. (She does not live in a cage, but has a room filled with branches to climb up on that give her views out the windows, and in the summer months, an outdoor aviary where she basks in the sun (and rain) if she'd like.

Beautiful...but so painfully thin. Wish I was there with some carrots and oats. :)
