It’s been forever since I have visited the National Zoo. It closed because of cov-id for 19 weeks and reopened at the end of July. You must reserve a ticket on line because they are limiting the amount of people entering the zoo. I felt it was just too hot and maybe not safe enough in the summer to do the zoo in a mask which is mandatory. With temps in the 60-70’s I thought ok let’s see if I can get a parking ticket. SCORE but wouldn’t you know it was a beautiful 80 degree day . Maryland weather can be crazy. I invited a photo friend along and we ran into another photo friend I knew. Lots of closures but great to see friends and walk around somewhere that’s not my neighborhood.
Oh and the BIG news at the zoo is a new baby boy panda. Of course it will be months before you can see him in person there.
Wow...you came prepared! I went to the Sacramento Zoo recently and we too had to buy our tickets in advance. They had a giraffe born on September 20th.
Oh, I am so glad you got to go. I know how much time you have spent at the zoo in the past and can appreciate the frustration you must have had during this pandemic. Sorry the weather was warmer than you wanted it to be but still glad to have heard you had a wonderful time. Fantastic selfie of your group.
Always nice to see people safely out and about - I have 8 masks at the ready...even though I don't get out much, I like to be prepared - plus I like to buy cute masks ♥
@lesip I can only imagine how difficult that must be wearing a mask the entire time. You’ve got some great photos from it though, the walk not the mask!
