Heart Thoughts

As I walk
And moreso as I ride
I often think of the secret place
I put my heart to hide

It's a place
unknown to most
it's real safe
nothing exposed

It's carefree there
Like when I was young
It can play and sing
and just have fun

I don't like the other world
where there is hurt
Unclean actions
and words with dirt

Its confusing at times
and lines get blurred
happiness wanted
yet, pain unfurled

There's a need for both
to solve it all
Youthful trust
Adult pall

Confidence gained
may be defied by the gut
To believe in yourself
avoids unnecessary ruts

Life's unsteady -
rocks and roots
It'll come, have faith
of your learning, fruits

I think as I walk
moreso as I ride
A heart in the open
is better than inside
