Jesus in the Birches

I see Him in the trees.
He showed up yesterday,
He may have been there all along.
Don't know how long He'll stay.

He said He'll stay forever
Words as true as gold
Is it up to us just to believe
or just thoughts for us to hold?

I see Him in the birch bark
cut out by nature's hand.
a striking profile, if you will
an image of a man.

What we believe when we are young
is crafted in our hearts
it is that world in which we live
our place, our soul, our art.
