@wrighty - Hey Martha, yup I'm back in Bkk and hopefully staying for a good while, my boyfriend and I are currently apartment hunting here :) And yeah it is sunny alright - it is so freaking hot right now it is actually too much. Ah well I shouldn't complain :)
@lily ah so fun!! Were you there in time for Songkran?! What will you do there? Teaching? I am very jealous, although I do remember it being *too* hot for me in April last year...
@wrighty - yes we were here for songkran - lots of dripping wet fun! :) I almost killed my little point and shoot trying to get some photos of it.
I have applied to Chulalongkorn (the main uni here) to do my MA, so hopefully that is what I'll be doing :) You should pop by sometime and we can eat some som tam together!
@lily ah yay Songkran in bkk is the best thing ever! Thankfully my friend had a waterproof camera there last year so I didn't need to risk harming my camera. Yes I would love to pop over to thailand.... remember my cambodian boy who I motorbiked in vietnam with? ( http://365project.org/wrighty/365/2011-06-23) well I'm still very very much hoping to see him again *daydreams*..... waiting for the bank account to allow it ;)
I love the light and smoke too! This shot reminds me of Nod's Bangkok street captures - don't know if you ever saw any of his work (he's not posting anymore) but his Bangkok shots are magnificent.
@wrighty - Yup I remeber your Cambodian guy, I wasn't sure if it was appropiate to ask about him ;) Are you keeping in contact with him? I bet he would love to see you again too
@lily amazingly, we're still in touch and talk quite regularly on Skype... the time difference kinda sucks but I'm still very much besotted. I get on with my normal life and then we talk every couple of weeks and I have a smile fixed to my face for days!! He still lives in Ho Chi Minh and looks like he will be there for a while. Would love to be in that part of the world again but will have to be once my masters is finished which is in September boooo!
@wrighty - september is not that far away! Somebody once said "all you've gotta do is decide to go and the hardest part is over. So go!" (and of course having just a bit of money helps as well!) :)
I'm hungry now. I want some of this really nice looking food! Although I am quite distracted that this picture seems to come with customised advertisment on the bottom of my browser page. Four vietnamese women are asking me to chat with them. Erm, nope.
I have applied to Chulalongkorn (the main uni here) to do my MA, so hopefully that is what I'll be doing :) You should pop by sometime and we can eat some som tam together!
