Swinging

Flashback to our last day on Ko Pha-ngan (this is a filler).

The islands of Samui, Tao and Pha-ngan gets the rainy season a lot later than here in Bangkok, so we had 10 days of beautiful sunshine and blue skies there... so nice :)

We are now home in Bangkok again. This morning we woke up to rain pissing down from a grey sky, yup rainy season sucks... Riding side saddle on the back of a motorbike taxi trying to keep your umbrella from blowing off backwards is a skill I'm still struggling to fully perfect.

My god that looks ridiculously relaxing. :) Love the greens and the cool refreshing feel to this :)

Looks so relaxing I may just fall asleep myself. Have to go home and set up our hammock for a nap this afternoon. :)

So lush and peaceful! I'm getting relaxed just looking at this! Uarg, rain season stinks! It's in Jul/Aug in Korea and those weeks are just depressing... So hopefully you'll be back to dryer and brighter days soon!

@yoori - it was a really lovely and relaxing place :) From what I've heard the rainy season should come to an end around late October, but last year when they had the horrible floods here in Bangkok that was well into November and December...
Have you travelled much in Korea? I would really like to go there, I've been reading up on it a lot lately. Also I just saw this Gangnam Style video - have you seen it??

Not looking forward to the rainy season here, will be planning to avoid going too far in the car I think. I met someone the other day who said an hour long trip home from school one day last year took 9 1/2 hours thanks to a heavy pour just as school finished! I know a few people who experienced the flooding in Bangkok last year...not fun at all. Fingers crossed it isnt as bad this year!

@palusami - yes I head horror stories about driving in the rain/flooded areas in Jakarta, do be careful! Though when we were there (also during the rainy season) we experienced no problems what so ever regarding the rain.
And yeah we are also hoping there will be no floods in Bkk this year!! :)

Now that is the life, love the POV!

@lily Omigod yes! The gangnam video is hysterical! It really hits a point on the superficial wasteful lifestyle. I have never worked in Korea but I've been going back and forth a lot especially since my parents have moved back there. Which part of Korea are you most interested in visiting?

looks so relaxing! wonderful capture!

@yoori - everything Korean is very hot here in Bangkok, it is really interesting to see how the Bangkokians almost looks more to the east than to the west when it comes to pop culture.

Regarding visiting Korea I would of course love to experience Seoul, the Seoraksan and Jirisan National Park also sounds wonderful, and Ulleung-do, Dadohae Haesang, Jeju-do all sounds like must see places as well! I would love to spend the night in a hanok, and either be there in spring to see blossoms or in the fall to see the leaves turn :) What are some of your favorite places?

@lily Oh I love Seoul. The buzz is wonderful and I could literally just eat my way through the city! There is a neighbourhood called Insadong and is known to be a more traditional place. So you can find a lot of great restaurants, pottery/crafts, tea houses and good rice cake places! A lot of the area around the hangang has been redeveloped too. I guess similar to bangkok the city can be a bit overwhelming at times. Little room to breathe, pollution. When I was younger we once took a roadtrip on the east coast and just stayed at little BnB places on the road (minbak) - some of them still the old traditional houses and the host would share some home-grown (harvest?) honey comb over good stories. Lovely! Where my parents live, there are roads and roads full of cherry blossom trees, so that's very beautiful in spring! I'm planning on going back to Korea in may next year and can't wait! :)
