A Day Out in Bangkok by lily

A Day Out in Bangkok

We went to Dusit Zoo today, we have decided to do or see at least one thing in Bangkok every week, sorta to remind ourselves to experience some of this cool city we live in :)
We saw the animals, and I discovered two new favourite animals - the slow loris and the common spider monkey, such cute and interesting animals :)
We rented a pink bike and rode around the park, taking time to celebrate Mai Lee the hipppo's 46th birthday. She got a huge "cake" of fruit and veggies and they played happy birthday for her - she looked very content! I also feed the manchurian camels and had a cute green parrot sit on my shoulder - a great day out in Bangkok.

The view here over the lake where you can rent paddle boats. The building in the back is Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall, an impressive example of Italian architecture that's been used for several state and royal functions and ceremonies.

I edited this in Picmonkey to try something else - what do you think of the outcome?
looks like a postcard! :)

I prefer your pics of people/you, but I like the processing here because its a bit like film!! ;) the nice contrasts and the vibrant blue, the foreground blur I'm not so sure about. ;)

I like! Sounds like you had a great day! Who knew there is this amazing green place in the middle of Bangkok! :) Isn't it crazy how easy it is to just settle in a place, and before you know it a year is gone and you don't feel like you've made the most of the place or seen anything! I am doing a similar thing here in DC - I have a rolling list of things I want to do/places I want to go.
