Victory Monument at sundown, it is the queen's birthday (or it was yesterday actually I think...) which means it is Thai Mother's Day. The fairy lights around the monument are in her honor. Every year on her birthday - actually the whole month of August, Thai households and public places will be decorated with lights, flags, decorations, and portraits of the beloved Queen Sirikit in celebration of her birthday.
The Queen is regarded as mother to all Thai people, thus her birthday is also celebrated as Mother’s Day and observed as a Thai national holiday.
I have just been reading your profile and I would say you achieved it all in this shot, (selfie aside obviously)
This is a beautiful shot, one of those that you just can't take your eyes off
@wendyhgill - yeah they are such a happy color :) And there are so many taxis in Bangkok, all the cars in colors you see in this shot are taxis - so the pink, blue, green/yellow and the red ones are all taxis!
Interesting fact...and capture... i know a bit of thai culture... they love the royal family so much.... this place is so familiar. We have almost the same structure in my home country Philippines.
