We had such a wonderful day out to one of the outer laying Angkor temples. This area was only cleared for land mines in 2008, and this hidden temple was well and truly off the beaten path, there was no ticket booth and no tourists - or any other people for that matter! It was just Martin and I, and it was perfect :) I often don't enjoy places over run by tourists so I really loved exploring these old temples in peace and quiet. They were falling apart in a very dignified manner, but in some places they were intact enough to give a great impression of what they might have been like when they were brand new. Exquisite carvings were still to be seen in many places, and it was just so magical to be there all alone :)
