Surprise Bird

I was pretty far away when I took the photo and was surprised to see the color of this bird. Anyone know what it is? (Note to self - buy bird book)

I was going to say it belonged to the Crow family, similarly to myself (Magpie), but it looks a pretty bird. Nice capture and thanks to someone else for naming my relative a common grackle.
