(Alternate title: How to fill an entire memory card with a Heron) I took a walk by the lake and there he was - the bird formerly known as Mystery Bird. Hoping this is his permanent home.
Yes, and I think it is a green heron. Harder to spot, at least for us here, than a blue heron, which is bigger. Nice composition and shot against the green water.

I'm constantly sneeking to the creek to try to get a picture of the (blue) heron who often visit but they are so shy. They see me before I see them and gone they are. I'll keep trying though. :-)
@angeliekevl Thanks! I do think the young ones are easier to spot. I've only seen the adult once. I have a few of our blue heron, but I had to take the photo from a long way off - no getting too close.
Henry looks just a tad worried, like somebody about to dive off a diving board! Look forward to seeing more shots of him - how lucky to have him living near!
Yes Henry Heron,great name ,we call our one in our local park,Henrybut he is a grey Heron,still all Herons look great,this Henry Heron is lovely fav.Great shot,well done,love it.
