Actually, it's just raining (all weekend). So I wanted to photograph some of my gifts before putting them away. A story about the scarecrows - I purchased the denim hat one at a cute little shop in my home town and enjoyed decorating with him so much that I went back in November, hoping the other one would be there (on sale). But, no. He was gone. :( Then I opened my first present from mom on Christmas morning and there he was! I had no idea she had gone back for him. (I may have to leave them out all year!)
Great collage. It looks like you got some very nice gifts. I have The Photographer's Eye. It is a wonderful book and I also follow A Beautiful Mess on their website. I get some good ideas from there. I love the scarecrow story. He will always be special to you.
@amandal Yep, getting ready for the WD marathon this week. And the pen next to the calendar projects a zombie image on the wall - really freaked out the cat! Thanks for visiting!
What fun, looking at all your gifts!! A collage like this is a great conversation starter. Your story about the scarecrows is just the sweetest. Love those kind of happy tales. I see you also received some photography-related items. Cool!
About my B&W "So long Merry & Bright" picture... I too leave the holiday decor up through the New Year's weekend. After that the Santa Claus items get tucked away but the holly and pine decorations and the like stay out until Feb. when hearts take over. Even my tree in the front room has stayed up through January some years.
@ladymagpie Thanks so much - the holiday have been lovely - I"d rather have lots of rain than a little freezing snow/ice - at least our temps have been OK!
