A very hot day at the estate auction, but I did very well. A nice collection of marbles, a metal Ford T-Bird, and a blue candy dish (not pictured yet) But my fav buys are the glass powder boxes. I purchased the deer by accident - my sister wanted the pink one, and I thought it was included in what they were auctioning off - it wasn't! So I picked the clear deer for myself. Much later (3 hours or so) they auctioned off the rest and yes, my sister got the pink and I picked a mule for myself. So now you all know what I did with my day! More captures to come...I am behind on my viewing and commenting - promise to catch up soon!
I just love those powder boxes - I have collected some cool old glass but mostly Mason jars, regulators and a few old soda bottles - these are so cool !!! What a totally fun day you must have had :)
@lindagene@vega Thanks for viewing! I enjoy collecting, but I've been trying to limit myself over the last few years (no more room!) This was a particularly good sale and in my mom's neighborhood, so we've enjoyed it.
@cejaanderson I've been to many auctions. My dad's cousin owned an auction house and we would go every Saturday night in my youth. It's a great people watching activity and you can get some great buys. Fortunately, I don't go much anymore (too easy to spend money!) Thanks for stopping by!
