The Reprieve

Every morning, this is on my porch and I think, I need to go kill that. Now that's not going to happen for 2 reasons...1 - I've taken a photo of him and he looks kinda cute and 2 - He's a crane fly and not a mosquito as I originally thought. So he gets to live, at least until a bird decides he looks like lunch.

I believe the great big ones are males and don't bite. However they do procreate, so .... Great shot!

We used to call them "the world's largest mosquitos," but of course they aren't, just as you said. They are big daddies though.
