Listening Aids

I've been in hearing aids for 15+ years - I discovered that I was born with a level of hearing below the norm, which declined as I got older. I didn't know there was an issue until a routine exam - once I got the aids, it was an interesting few weeks of hearing things I didn't know I was missing (my light switches made a clicking sound, the frig runs a lot, eating popcorn is a noisy endeavor!) So here they are, pictured for the weekly theme - listen.
Awesome, Lin!

Wow, we take such noises for granted - although I must admit I have tinnitus now in my left ear and find I am going deaf in this ear too! This just happened out of the blue a few years ago!

Very cool , both my brother and mum need the use of hearing aids and its a heredity problem.

What an awesome idea for the weekly theme. A spectacular shot. Something that so many of us take for granted.

I know exactly what you're talking about , Lin. I've had my hearing aids for about three and a-half years and was amazed at how many sounds I was missing.

@seattlite I kept asking people at work - what's that noise? They would ask "what does it sound like?" I'd say "thunder" They would say "it's the soda machine". We did this off and on for a while, until it became white noise to me, like it was to them! Thanks for stopping by!

@lyndamcg I also have tinnitus - while the aids are in I don't notice it, but it's much louder without them. I've adjusted to it, but I still think how great it would be to "hear" silence again. Thanks for dropping by!
