There's an interesting question in the Latest Topics section about street photography. Part of the question is - do you ask or just shoot from a distance? My answer varies in most instances, but in the case of children, I always ask. The adorable child's father volunteered to take a photo of me and my friends, which gave me the courage to practice asking if I could photograph Miss cuteness in her pink shoes.
Close up of children I ask if I think I might post. From a slight distance I feel I am out there in the open and if anyone objects (and sometimes they do by their actions) I stop. I often ask adults too if I am close up. Love the over exaggerated smile that so many kids do.
