Both literally and figuratively. I experimented with smoke photography for the first time, but I didn’t get the results I wanted due to the fact that the incense I used didn’t generate thick enough smoke. Once again my photo of the day took up much more time than anticipated, and the laundry and dirty dishes lay in neglected piles. I feel a bit guilty. I really do. But I’m addicted to this project even more than I am to Diet Coke. There are worse vices, right?
This is not what you wanted? Wow- can I have it?! I think it's great. I like how it swirls (which you really can't plan) and I like the positive/negative space- it's a great composition.
I think it came out great. You wanted the smoke thicker? I think wispier smoke photographs better. Just my opinion. As for addicted to 365? Quite easy to become addicted for sure.
@digitalrn@tnamari@lrappa@kerristephens@karenr@bill_d@olivetreeann@rayswrld@flamez Thanks for your comments. Coming back and looking at it today, I like it better but I had something else in mind when I was taking the pictures. I guess I was disappointed when it didn’t look like the image in my head, but it IS smoke after all and it kinda does what it wants to do.
aha! (I am sooo far behind on photos I saw the other one before this one) I actually haven't been able to find incense ANYWHERE! my meager experiments have been with candles, blowing them out and snapping fast (needless to say ~ it doesn't work that way!! ) cool shot!!
