The Palladium

Tonight I enjoyed watching tap dancer Savion Glover perform at the new home of The Center for Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana. As you can see there is still a little work to be done outside such as landscaping. The venue was phenomenal! There wasn’t a bad seat in the house. I’m including a picture of the interior in my This and That Album. Although I thought the cost to build it was ridiculous, I now feel lucky to have such a state of the art venue so close to my home. (Savion was completely amazing!)

The Palladium is on my list to photograph for 365 this year! I was very sick with the flu the weekend they had their open house, but my parents went and told me about it. I can't wait to see something there. I need to get on their website and check for tickets. This is an amazing photo! I love it!

@jo365 Savion Glover is so fun to watch. He’s not your traditional tap dancer!
@deniseinindy I think I read on their website that they give tours. I was completely in awe of it, and I usually hate to pay any compliments to Carmel. They sure did this right!

Awesome! I wanted to see his performance. Glad you enjoyed it. I need to get up there myself for some photo ops!

@tsburns2001 Believe it or not, you came to mind when I was taking this picture. This building’s just huge and reminds me of the county courthouses you’ve been shooting. I can’t wait until they finally get the landscaping done.

OK thanks for answering my question that I asked on your previous photo. Really lovely building. Glad you had such a good time.

Thanks for the stop and comment. I like the looks of this building a lot. Was it built with Indiana Limestone from Bedford?

Beautiful building!

@honestabe Hmm, I’m not sure about the source of the limestone. I know the Biltmore is Indiana limestone!

When and where did Carmel build this place?
April 16th, 2011
@moncooga It opened in January of this year. It’s right in the town center where all of their government buildings are around 126th & Rangeline. It’s acoustically perfect. Michael Feinstein is the Artistic Director. It’s one amazing place. Please don’t make me say anything else nice about Carmel.

@lisjam1 I figured it was there. Yeah, Carmel is trying to be bigger than Indy. Hey, not my tax dollars.
