During his last exam the veterinarian said Eddie is now considered to be geriatric at age nine. I was kind of surprise since I’m still waiting for him to grow out of his puppy phase. But when I looked closely at his sweet face, I saw the evidence. The area around his muzzle is starting to turn white. He doesn’t seem to think he’s old, so I’m not going to tell him.
Eddie certainly looks like he has a lot of spark left in him! I remember when the vet told me my 8 year old cat is now a "Senior" :( .. Life has a way of just rolling on by doesnt it?!...
I wouldn't give Eddie any hints. I think he's like me...I still have it in my brain that I'm 25. It shocks me when I look in a mirror or have to write my age/birth date on a form. It's like, how did that happen? :)
He looks like our Cuddles. She lived 23 human years. A record for the vet hospital and doctors there. We eventually had her put to sleep as her arthritis was very bad and she cried when she had to get up to go out to pee or to eat or to get a drink of water. We gave her pills for the pain but there came a point where we decided she had gone through enough. And she lived with us and saw all of our five kids grow up and leave home. A long time to have a pet.
