We had a blast participating in a 19 mile ride starting at 11:00pm through the streets of Indianapolis tonight. I loved riding by our museums and landmarks lit up in the night. I think there were about 3500 riders. Unfortunately I had to take my little point-and-shoot so the night pictures were not so grate. I doctored this one of my daughter up in PSE to hide the fact that it was very blurry. I bought this giant light up necklace at the beginning of the event, and it proved useful for locating her whenever we become separated. Can’t wait to do it again next year!!!
hey Lisa, I knew nothing about this. I am out of town anyway, but let me know the date for next year , it sounds fun. Did they block of streets for you or police help at all?
@sarasdadandmom Yes, the police were at every intersection with a traffic light, and they were wonderful. The whole event was so well organized. I was impressed. Bicycle Garage Indy also had several people on patrol ready to help stranded bicyclists by making on-the-spot repairs. I love the Indy Mini, but this was smaller and due to that, a little more relaxed. They said this was the 17th year, but I’ve never heard of it!
